The LC-SE project is jointly managed by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and the Centre International d'Études Pédagogiques, with the support of the DfES, and the French Ministry of Education.

Aims

The aims of the project are to facilitate long-lasting partnerships between language colleges and schools in France with Sections Européennes, based on jointly planned projects which meet the needs of learners in both schools.

Objectives

The objectives of the project are to create opportunities for:

• Pupils in each school to communicate with each other using the foreign language they are learning, both long-distance and face to face;

• Enhancing pupils' cultural understanding, and their learning in a range of disciplines, through the shared exploration of themes of mutual interest;

• Teachers to share good practice in relation to language teaching, and in particular bilingual teaching, in order to enhance their skills and the quality of their teaching materials; and

• The imaginative use of information and communications technology to facilitate communication.
